This is in honour of the Marklew family, and this bit of its history. The story goes that, as a young man, Clive’s maternal grandfather, Jack Hickman, having worked his passage to America, arrived almost destitute. The Salvation Army came to his rescue - he always credited them with saving him. When he had the opportunity, he would always donate. Whenever Clive saw someone in that Sally Army uniform he kept up this tradition and made a donation, in honour of his grandfather.
